Sri Lanka Jama'ath-e-Islami organized a
lecture of Dr. Ahmed Totonji Ph.D, Vice President of Vice President,
International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT), USA, at Postal Headquarters
Auditorium, Colombo 10 on 21st September, 2011.
Born in 1941 in Iraq, Dr.
Totonji graduated with distinction in Petroleum Production Engineering from a
British University and received his Masters and Ph.D from Penn State University
USA. He established the College of Petroleum and Mineral Engineering, Al Fateh
University, Tripoli, Libya and the Department of Petroleum Engineering in
King Saud University, Riyadh, KSA.
Dr. Totonji took an
active role in the establishment of the International Institute of
Islamic Thought (IIIT), USA as well as International Islam Forum for Science,
Technology and Human Resources Development in Indonesia. He is the founder
Secretary General of International Islamic Federation of Student
Organization(IIFSO) and the first Assistant Secretary General of the World
Assembly of Muslim Youth(WAMY). He is also a founder member of several other
International organizations and academic bodies
